How We Worship

There is no dress code. Come as you are. We worship every Sunday, beginning at 10:00 a.m. in our Sanctuary. Sunday services and Sunday School last about an hour. Childcare is always available.

Our worship style features a blend of both traditional and contemporary music, preaching, teaching, prayer, and sacramental celebrations. Our Senior Minister, the Rev. Dr. Arlene K. Nehring, is a passionate witness to God’s hospitality and hope. We strive for a balance between a routine that promotes a sense of reassurance, and variety that emulates the spirit of the living Christ.

Eden’s services begin and end with organ or piano music, and commence with congregational responses and prayers, then announcements, the Children’s Gathering, and a sermon and pastoral prayer, ending with the offering and a closing song. Our children and youth are invited forward early in the service, and then excused to classes or the nursery. We sing and hear a wide range of music performed by diverse ensembles.

Our Senior Minister, Arlene Nehring, preaches frequently and shares the pulpit with our ministerial staff and lay leaders. A talented team of lay liturgists brings creativity and faith-filled insights to weekly worship. PDF and audio links to past sermons at Eden can be found under the “Archives” menu above.

We use a sound system and digital projection system to enhance worship. Hearing assistance systems are available for use. Please see the receptionist when you visit to borrow a unit.

We look forward to welcoming you to worship at Eden Church in the very near future!
